Middle School 6th-8th Grades

At Trinity Prep, Middle School students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are in the Logic Stage of development.  In the Logic Stage, students are developing the capacity to grasp more abstract concepts and philosophies, and to master more analysis and comparison.  In classical education, Logic Stage students move beyond simply acquiring, memorizing and categorizing information and adding to their database, as is the focus in the Grammar Stage.  They are laying the foundation for the Rhetoric Stage (high school)  when they will more deeply assess the world around them, compare it to their worldview, form a response to it, and articulate that view.  So, the middle school grade levels are devoted to exposing students to literature, history, and science concepts which broaden their world and expose them to various ideas.  At Trinity Prep, engaging in these ideas in a Christian environment is an important context and a priority.
